HIMALA ( MIRACLE )

Aling Sagring,  Ambos Mundos' old-timer servidora, noticed this image after she threw the ashes of the bibingkahan  tin pan.........the image of the Immaculate Virgin Mary carrying Infant Jesus Christ.  It's really amazing! Even I ,a skeptic, was really impressed by the sharpness of the image and its details. The day it appeared was on the same day of the feast of Nuestra Senora del Pillar (Sta Cruz Church) Oct 19, 2008 Sunday.  What's funny is that while I was inside the Sta Cruz Church that morning, I felt that something good like a miracle is going to happen.  I was right kasi that afternoon I heard the frantic call on our intercom and it was Aling Sagring telling my sister Evelyn about her discovery.  This really a Himala.  I really love our Blessed Mother eversince pa bata ko and because my mom was a Marian devotee.  I feel we are so blessed to have this image with us ......... priceless !!!

Dapat noon ko pa ilalagay ito sa blog ko kaso wala lang time and today is the more appropriate day to share this with you ......  I offer this image for my dearly departed.

A Glimpse Inside My Clinic

I
'm proud to say that my sister Kat designed the interior of my clinic.  My clinic is small but for me it's sufficient enough to give my patients quality dental work. Borrowed word of wisdom from Dr. Blatchford 'Better Not Bigger' dental practice. My sis has no formal training in interior designing but i think she's gifted.  She has the eye for beauty and artistic too. She also designed the interiors of our restaurants Wah Sun and Ambos Mundos.  A bit mismatch ang mga tiles atibapa kasi siempre mahal ang materiales kaya lumabas eccentric..... If you want to get her service to design your precious place, you'll be in for a nice surprise.

Making A Difference In God's Glory

I've been busy this week because of the Kiddie Health Talk . We (at clinic department) have to prepare a presentation for the nursery and kindergarten 1 & 2 of Manila Patriotic School. Of course we had invited the parents of the school children to educate them as well as to inform them of the basic health care needs of their kids especially their dental health.
Remember I'm a newly hired school dentist (started Jan 10,2008) at this school which is also my alma matter up to grade 3 till I transferred to Hope Christian High School and it's my first time to make this presentation to these children so I want to give them something since they are all adorable. They would visit me in my clinic just to say hi or they would just open their mouth and show me their teeth even though there's nothing wrong with their mouth. I'm glad they are not scared of me (for being their dentist). I want them to have a good head start with regard to their dental health and what better way is to introduce to them a good product.
'Making a Difference in God's Glory' is the company motto of LAMOIYAN CORPORATION maker of HAPEE TOOTHPASTE. I can attest that they are really true to their words. Since I wanted to make the school children of MANILA PATRIOTIC SCHOOL happy on this event, I asked a good friend & colleague of mine (Dr. Abigail Chang) and her brother (Mr. Arvin Chang) to personally send my letter of request to Dr. CECILIO PEDRO, owner of Lamoiyan Corp., who goes to the same church with them. Even the secretaries of Mr. Pedro, sila Ms Elena Roque and Alma played an important role. I call them my angels. Thank you guys especially to you, Dr. Pedro for making the kids hapee talaga !
So by July 11 (friday) Dr Hidalgo (Physician) , Nurse Janet and I made our presentation and luckily the kids did not sleep and also the parents. Pati mga sin sang (the teachers) and Dr Chen, the principal of Manila Patriotic School di natulog. Overall i would say it was a success. Judging by the reaction of some of the parents and teachers, they were saying to me 'ah ganoon pala iyon para sa baby ko.' I'm so happy they learned a lot from my lecture. When I was making my report in my powerpoint my focus is the parent, kasi they have to make this toothbrushing fun for their kids as well as time to bond with them. Dental care starts at infancy not later.
Now that's making a difference in God's glory. Pahiram muna ng motto mo Dr. Pedro.

A Prayer To Heaven

I know the pain of losing your love ones.  I  felt their pain and anguished.  Those people at the door of Sulpicio lines office screaming, it made me cry.  My heart felt their pains, their heartaches, their helplessness.  After seeing the news on TV, my tears would just flow down my cheeks and I can not sleep , their cries would echo in my ears.  For a week now, every time I read the newspaper, I have to wear my shades to cover my feeling from strangers.  Those people who lost their relatives on board of that cruise ship needs closure, some of them were insulted by the money offered by the owner.  It's really not about the money but the pain of losing love ones.
My prayer goes to my kababayan and to our country.  We need to be strong in this trying times and I need to let this feeling out kasi I have trouble sleeping.

God Almighty, eternal rest grant unto them and let your Perpetual Light shine upon them, Amen.

It's a good thing that Manny Pacquiao brought some glory to our country. Congratulation Champ!  You bring hope to us, too

A simple graduation

This is my surgery batch mates.  It's a simple graduation rite held inside the audio-visual room of Metropolitan Hospital located at Masangkay Street, Tondo Manila.  My mentor here is Dr Lucinda Valderama aka Dr. V.. She's seated at the front seat 2nd from the left and brainchild of this program is Dr. Chung 3rd seat (wearing a beige blazer)..............  Congratulations to all of my friends (A Toast !!!)

My mentor

Well, when there's a convention I'm pretty sure I'll get to see some of my former classmates in college and in post graduate studies.  I'm so glad to see my college professor Dr. C Ramos in the wet clinic (Endodontics & Prosthodontics) and this is her turf. As you can see all those dentists are enthusiastically asking questions.  Filipino dentists can be at par with its international counterparts given the chance to have those state of the art equipments, nothing is impossible. Since most of the local dentist are exposed to latest technologies, I can say we are taking it to the next level........ We can achieve everything!

"Taking PHILIPPINE DENTISTRY to the Next Level"

That's the theme of Philippine Dental Association (est. 1908)  this year.  Its 100 years was celebrated from april 28 to may 2, 2008 at the newly built SMX Convention Center located at Pasay City.   I'm proud to be part of this great institution.  I'm also a member of the Manila Dental Society which is one of the pioneer affiliate chapter of PDA.  Anyways I want to show you the venue where it was held.

WOW PHILIPPINES !

"Whisper your wishes, when you get to the tunnel" mama would say to us............. You can find this tunnel in Subic Bay which was occupied by the american military base until 1991 , when Mt. Pinatubo erupted. Its lahar and ashes covered the whole Luzon region , it even reached other countries and blocked the sunlight. What's really amazing only less than 300 lives perished thanks to the late Mr. Renato Punongbayan (geologist) who warned the filipinos of its impending crisis.

WOW PHILIPPINES !

My other passion is to capture the beauty and warmth of my country and its people.................. here sunset at Bataan, Phil.......... this is my secret paradise .... ahhhhh lovely!!!

I woke up 4:30 am and at the break of dawn these are the beautiful scenery I saw, the beautiful (ivory) sky, the newly opened SCTEX (Subic-Clark Expressway), the mountains and rice field, and the Haring Araw (the big beautiful sun rising from the east) on the day Christ has risen...... Just Perfect !

Surgery Batch 3

I took up surgery class at Metropolitan Hospital last year under Dr Valderama. Here are some of my Batch mates. (me.....3rd from the right.... i don't know why bernie has to lean back ......ang sikip na nga talaga .......?????)

Manila Patriotic School

I'm the new school dentist of Manila Patriotic School, it's my alma mater (nursery to grade 3 only then transfered to another school). Though it's a small school, it has withstand the test of time. Established in 1912, they have the best preparatory chinese school. I started this january 2008 and so far so good. I love the whackinest of the school children. On my second day of work as I was checking on some of the nursery pupils, a lot of them were asking so many questions. Their inquiries are endearing and very funny. There was this young girl who would talk to me while i was checking on her classmates. Janet, the school nurse would tell her to behave but she won't stop chatting to me until she was asked to wait outside. I find her funny, entertaining and yes talkative. I went to see the pre-schooler and elementary student's school play (Feb 6) their chinese new year show, I really enjoyed the show especially since I met some of the students. A lot of the students are mestiza (mix filipino and chinese parents) so I can relate to them. I really like it to be part of this institution again. Wish that my school would gain more recognition in the future.

Happy New Year

A Blessed and Prosperous New Year to all. Wow how time flies, it's 2008!!! I pray that all your hopes and dreams will come true this year, siempre ako rin pero secreto iyon.

I just renovated my clinic so It was closed from Dec 16,2007 to Jan 6, 2008. I worked overtime to organized my things, ang hirap. Thanks to my sisters Kat, my architect and interior designer and Eve also a designer and organizer. They did a great job.

My body is still in a Holiday/celebratory mood since december (Christmas day next New Year then the Three Kings Jan.6 comes the Feast of Jesus Nazareno of Quiapo Church Jan.9 then the Feast of Sto Nino 3rd week of Jan.) We, filipinos, celebrate the longest christmas holiday on earth unless somebody contest this (please correct me if I'm wrong). We inherited this from our Spaniard ancestors and I'm thankful for their love of life. We learned from them to enjoy life and be very spiritual.

The venue of Olympic 2008: Beijing China that will be on 8-8-2008 that will start at exactly 8 because 8 for chinese means infinity, never ending fortune, a very auspicious date to begin with. In cantonese eight is pronounced as fat that means fortune. "One billion chinese can't be wrong." that's what my papa would say to me. I can't argue with that. Being good in math and how to run a business are what our Chinese ancestors taught us. Philippine is truly blessed kahit ano pang sabihin ng iba. What we lack is a good urban planner to continue what Mayor Atienza started 'BUHAYIN ANG MAYNILA.' I believe in his vision like my family we see beauty in nature. Sana marami pang Parks hindi puro malls. I HATE MALLS ! I LIKE PARKS AND RAMBLAS LIKE IN BARCELONA, SPAIN. IYON !!

Happy New Year!!! Have you seen my dog Paris and her adopted cat Nicole, cute bi ba?
I will show you my brother's exotic pets next time.
